Okay, so school starts in...a little bit less than a month. September second to be exact. But see, I am so used to going to bed around 12-4 and getting up at 1 that I don't want to feel groggy and run-down at school. Anyways that I can get on a regular sleep cycle? Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, see when I sleep late I don't want to go to bed til later, so that is my problem, but everyday I sleep late so everyday I don't want to go to bed 'til later, so I cannot get to sleep!!!Lol. Help. Please.

  1. I have the same exact problem & everyone tells me to just stay awake all night & day long & then I will be so exhausted that I will crash out early the next day, nope, it never works for me! I end up getting so tired that I have to take a nap mid day at like noon or 1:00 in order to function & then Im right back where I started. My best advice is to just try to get up a little earlier every day before you have to go back to school, you will have your rest & be getting up earlier & then try to get back to a set time you wake up at. Avoid drinking pop or tea or anything before bed too. Maybe take a warm bath, read a book or magazine to make you sleepy at night. Best of Luck!

  2. sound like you need to hit that alarm clock and make your self get up and go for a walk ,jog or something to keep you busy do not take a nap ,for this will not help you sleep at night.

    Good Luck !!!

  3. i have been haveing that same problem (i dont like to get up and stay active lol)but like they said if you set your alarm clock and get up and then if you do something to tired yourself out in the day like excersize real hard or stay active you will totally want to hit the sack at a regular time. i resently went on a mission trip with my church and we had to get up at 5am before everyone els because our project was so big (re roofing a house) N E way so i stayed bussie all day BEST sleep i have ever got and it was on a air mattris so really just make your self get up and stay active (you dont have to stay as active as i did) lol. good luck.

  4. stay up all night and day then go to bed at like 8 lol

    that's how i do it

  5. I understand your pain, you should try to maintain a fairly consistent schedule of sleep as others have mentioned, avoid naps during the day, stimulating/caffeinated beverages past 4pm, and TV too close to bedtime. Also try to get sufficient exercise/physical activity. Many night shift workers and travelers with jet lag sometimes benefit from short-term use of Melatonin supplements (available OTC, many pharmacies, health food shops)-  adjusts the sleep rhythms and providing an immediate sedative effect in many people. This may be more beneficial to older people likely producing lower levels. Avoiding bright lights late in the evening will allow your natural melatonin to be more effective. -the hormone has many complex and fascinating actions within the body only just beginning to be understood. You might also be interested in aromatherapy oils like lavender which some find calming or a sedative herb like valerian for the short-term. Reducing your stress/anxiety about school, perhaps practicing meditation may also help.

  6. Hey, this has long been an issue for me lol

The thing is, however early you go to bed, you won't sleep unless you've been up for like 14-16 hours

So you have to attack it from the other end, and get up earlier

Since you have plenty of time, just get up an hour earlier every day until you're back on your normal wakeup time for school

    Good luck! :3
