How to get on another internet domain?

i was woundering if it would be possible to get on china internet while your in america? i hear its a different internet.

While I'm sure they have different equipment, and they are free to filter out anything they don't want going in and out of the country (and they do), they do follow the standard Internet protocols and they are reachable from the US.
