How to get out of an iPod restore loop?

I restored my iPod but my iTunes says I didn't. Everytime I try to restore it, it doesn't recognize that I did.

I have a 5th gen 30 gig iPod.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

just reset it pressing the menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears
