24 female, intern at a alternative highschool, 2 workers there like to do what they call "ribbing" which is jokingly gang up on someone to prove them wrong or debate them. They jokingly ganged up on me over my rooting for russia instead of usa in olympics, made all sorts of comments about russian stereotypes, I told them they were being mean and they couldnt believe it hurt my feelings since they thought i knew they were joking. i didnt and it hurt, now i have to go face them and i feel like ****. stupid for being over sensitive. How do i deal? One of them did apologize, but i feel soo stupid, just thinking of them making fun of me. What do i do, i just want to avoid them at all costs, but i cant since they work with me. I cant even bring it up again without sounding petty and childish, they are in their forties, in 24. what do i do?

  1. You are being overly sensitive. If you are afraid/embarrassed of facing them again go talk with them first thing in the morning. Say hi or talk about the weather. It will make your day better because you have faced your fear. I doubt they mean to harm you.

  2. Brush yourself off and move on. How were you supposed to know they were joking? It's hard to tell with people sometimes. Now that you know how they are, you'll be better able to handle it next time. Don't feel stupid.
