  1. I also suffer from anxiety. I was given anti-depressants by my doctor to help me with my anxiety which is a symptom of depression. It helps me relax and I can sleep easier at night. Ask your primary care physician. Hope this helps.

  2. Before getting on anti-anxiety medications, I would recommend using some cognitive-behavioural therapy skills. Cognitive-wise, think to yourself: what would be the worst thing that could happen if I read outloud in class? How likely is it that that would actually happen? Would it really be all that bad? If you're worried about people making fun of you, the fact is that most people will get nervous talking in front of a group of people, so even though it might not seem like it, a lot of your classmates are just as nervous as you are. Behavioural-wise, try just breathing deeply, and imagine that you are alone in the room and just reading outloud to yourself. You will get over this if you believe in yourself!
