How to get over post-traumatic stress disorder?

I was raped 7 months ago and since I have suffered from denial and post traumatic stress disorder. Now I have admitted the rape to myself I am turning my life around, the only problem is I have developed bed eating habits, bad sleep patterns and other bizarre characteristics. How can I turn it around and get my life back? I've been keeping a food diary; this has helped.

  2. My advice would be to contact your local rape crisis centre, if you haven't already; they're best able to help.  There's a very good website which explains what services are available and how to get in touch:

    The centre's services can be completely anonymous, if you prefer.

    I know from personal experience that working with an experienced counsellor can be enormously helpful.  It's so important!
