  1. Flying is not only the most cost effective way of traveling long distances per passenger mile, it is also the safest.

Think about the number of flights per day and the number of accidents per year.

Compare that to the odds of getting into a car accident.  In the USA, it is like an accident per every 140,000 miles driven.

You have a better chance of winning the lottery than being killed in an airplane.

If you are of legal age, bring lots of cash and get a few drinks.  Calm yourself with mens mags.

Just think of all the beautify Aussie women on the beach. Yummmm.

  2. try to rationalise it

  3. You could as you gp for some sort of drug to take, or hypnotism, or get comatose drunk, or don't sleep for 24 hours before getting on so that you can't stay awake.

Otherwise I don't know, I'm probably the scaredest person in the world!

  4. go on a long flight and eat lots of sweets

  5. First, make sure you do not have any medical reasons causing symptoms that make you uncomfortable flying...  and you have no problems like inner ear trouble... then go to a respected flight training center and explain your situation... go up and take a flight with a GOOD and considerate instructor... he will  not do any thing wild or upside down or the like... he will let you take the controls and try it out... he will explain every thing going on... just allow you to experience flying and gain understanding... when you have the controls you will not be as afraid as you think... you may not exactly "like it"   but you will gain understanding... and who knows... you may actually like it so much you will go on to get a pilots license yourself... Knowledge can overcome fear... and you can have some fun as well...

  6. frow yourself out a window

  7. The pilots on an airplane are professional and have driven on lots of other planes as well. They always check safety first on the airport. Its nearly impossible to crash. Even if you do crash, their is still a chance to survive.

  8. Take deep breaths. Remain calm. Sleep on the flight. Try to distract yourself with a film or magazine or book.

    Good luck :) :) :)

  9. HI hun

The only thing i can suggest is start taking some kalm tablets thats what they are called,I dont think there is a cure really, unless you try hypnosis but not sure you want to do that either,Its not silly if you have a fear you have a fear,Try seeing your doctor he may well prescribe you with something when you  go x

  11. It's still the safest form of transport, obviously not if you are in one of the rare crashes! May I recommend three or four large Vodkas before you get on your plane!

  12. I just got on a plane. I've always had a fear of flying but I had to go to Florida and couldnt drive because of the time. I sucked it up and flew to Fla. I'm glad I did.

I also had a fear of roller coasters....I finally got on them last year and now look forward to getting on them every year.

I say when you're afraid of something, conquer it. It might take you some time before that fear goes away but you'll feel better about yourself knowing that you are taking the steps to over come that fear.

    Good Luck

  13. get drunk! or take sleepers

  14. Do and MR T and get some drugs to knock you out
