How to get passed this on my ibm thinkpad A20a?

my daughter was pushing buttons on my ibm thinkpad and now when you turn it on it has a lock and when we put the password in it takes us to a blue screen saying a problem has been detacted and windows has been shut down to prevent damages to you computer and it tells you to go to safe mode to fix it but when we try that blue screen just keeps coming up
