You would need to go to a Passport Agency to apply

Contact passport office in your city & put this question there . Definitely there is a procedure for the same. If u approach the MLA of your area, u can get it in 2 days.

Your safest altenative is to have all your paperwork in line and pay for the expedited service if you want it at the soonest available time.

With the new travel requirements for a passport to travel to Cananda and Mexico passportprocessing is now taking upward of 10-12 weeks. If you are travelling in the next couple of months, I suggest the expedited service.

I got one in three days by using a courier service.  You can do a Google search online to find one.  You have to Fedex all of your documents to them, then they take it to the passport office in DC, and Fedex it back to you.  It cost me about $385 total.  I believe they also have a faster service....

well i had 2 get my passport as soon as possible cz i wz writin 1 of my xam n i hd 2 show da passport...

i went 2 safiyatravels [ itz everywhere in india] i told dem 2 i needed a passport so dey told me it'll take a month or so....so i asked my aunt n she told me dat if if v have a letter signed by da police head of dat place v wud get da passport immediately...i went 2 da passport office n paid 1000rs n applied under tatkal..plz don 4get 2 take photos..and ur 10th marklist or ur license,ration card for proof n stuff...da police gave us a signed letter..2 fotos needed 4 dat procedure...fill 2-3 forms n don 4get 2 take copies of these forms incase some gadbad happens...went 2 da passport office da nxt...applied 4 da passport wid tatkal n gave de letter...police came 4 verifyin....2 days later...i got da passport....it wz just a matter of 5-6 days...gud luck..

let me tell you how i got it in about 10 working days

1. applied thru normal channel and paid Rs 1000

2. 3 days later went to passport office to ask for tatkaal date

3. tatkaal date given to me was a week from then

4. went to meet RPO on assigned tatkaal date

5. 3rd day frm that passport was received at my house

didnt pay ANYTHING to anyone beyond the std Rs 1000 for passport application. and i did my police verification AFTER i had got the passport in my hand :)

key is

1. all documents

2. proper photos

3. proper photocopies

4. be polite and patient and dont appear hassled

5. justification letter - most important - in my case there was a clear need to travel quickly on business

also, things like whether your current address and permanent address are same, whether you are asking for new passport or additional booklet... all these are factors

net-net... it wont happen in 3-4 days, but can happen in 2-3 weeks easily....

You need to have an air ticket reservation showing that you will be traveling within a week. They have the express for which you have to pay a few hundred bucks more.
