So I live in Mattoon IL. and last weekend I found an injured opossum with babies, and well later the mother died and some of her babies did too - except for three that I was able to feed and to take care of untile I was able to find someone who had a licence.

Before I called around I diden't know it was illegal to be doing what I did.

So I was wondering how do I go about to get a permit, or whatever, so that I can take care of the wildlife in my area that needs help.

Does anybody know?

  1. Contact the state Fish and Wildlife Department in your area. You can also try your local humane shelter to see if they have information. Strange that you need a license to do that. Here if we find an animal we just help it and release it. If it is an exotic we call the zoo
