How to get pet urine smell out of carpet?

we have brand new carpet and a new puppy. there is one spot that i have foundn that she is pottyinig and that room is starting to smell like urine. it is one small spot in the room, what is the best way to get rid of this?

there's a cleaning spray called "awesome"..yess its really called that and if you spray that on the carpet let it sit for about 5 minutes then scrub it then the smell will go away. =]

Look for a product called Urine-off from vets and online.  I got through housebreaking two puppies with it.  Puppies and new carpets are a tough mix =)

There are a lot of spray or powder products on the market for this or just wash and use a lemon scented dish detergent.  If it permeates the whole carpet, wash it in a washer or replace it.

They make carpet cleaner for pet stains and odor. Try cleaning the spot then use Febreze.

A product called Nature's Miracle sold at pet supply stores. After it dries, use a black light to make sure it is gone. It can soak into the pad. This product breaks down the enzymes in the urine. If there is any left it will fluoresce when the light hits it. Then just repeat until it is gone. Good luck.
