Anyway, yeah, Pit stains on my dress shirts. Not really noticeable since I wear a blazer over the shirt, but sometimes it does get hot and I'd like to take the blazer off. Anyway, these stains have been there for a good while. Any way to get old pit stains out of clothes?

Baking soda, white vinegar? Both?

Something else?

  1. baking soda and h20!

  2. ~~Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Spray the stain until saturated. Let it sit on the stain 15 minutes to and hour depending on how dark the stain is. Launder as usual. It will be fresh and clean again and the stain disappears like magic.~~

  3. White vinegar always does the trick for me!

  4. Not really because  it's not exactly a stain; the salt/acids in sweat actually rot's and discolors the material like bleach so it's not a matter of dirty but of physical change to the material. You can buy things called garment guards (thin adhesive pad-like things that absorb the minerals and allow the vapor to pass through keeping you cool and dry) to protect the armpits of your other non-stained shirts in the future, most large clothing stores sell them and you can't tell you are wearing them.
