  1. I disagree with my subject peer.

IN all states, you have specific steps you can take to have a free home--but in many states those steps are long time steps.

a; find private property that is abandoned

and occupy it.  After 7 yrs, you pay the taxes and it is yours.

b; visit a tax sale from any county

[once a year] and pay a few dollars

and the property is yours mortgage free.

c; find 200 acres for sale,

buy it, and build on 100 of it and

sell the rest, and get all your money back.

d; visit banks for real estate owned.

e; visit the state capital's web site

    see what property they have

been assigned by any county that

did not have its taxes paid.

f; find unoccupied land and see who

owns it........see if they will trade services for it or sell it cheap.

g; visit small villages and see who

has bought and paid cash and then

    left.........you can squat in those

    houses.

hope one or more of those ideas work for you.

  2. Land is rather pricey in Alaska, the odds of you finding 100 acres for sale are slim, but you can expect to pay top dollar for it, not bottom.

  3. Maybe in fantasy Alaska. Because in the real one you're not going to.

  4. Homesteading is no longer allowed in Alaska. It was a great deal when it was an active plan.
