How to get rid of Ant Hills?

I have Ant Hills in my yard, what do you do to get rid of them? I hope someone has a trick to get rid of the pests!

if you go to any hardware store, they have treatments for indoor/outdoor ant problems and some stores even carry treatment for ant hills specifically! but remember, there are products that kill on contact and bait traps. you'd want the bait traps. with ants, the worker ants go out of the nest and find food to bring home for the queen, who makes lots of little ants and almost never surfaces. with bait traps, the poison in the bait wont come kill the ants immediately, but allow them to bring it to the queen, who will eat it and die. kill on contact products get the live ants out side of the hill but to remove the problem completely, you need to kill the queen. good luck!!

Get some diatomaceous earth. It is a powder that you can sprinkle onto the mound and they carry it back down and it will kill them out. Try to get food grade DE is has less silica. You can also use it in your house to get rid of any small pests that may come inside. The food grade DE is not harmful to your family or pets. It can also be added to food to get rid of intestinal parasites from your family and pets. If using outside on plants be sure to put it on the base of the plant, not near the top so that it does not harm any honeybees in the area.
