How to get rid of Antivirus XP 2008?

How do you get rid of the program/virus Antivirus XP 2008? i go to Add/Remove programs but it says theres an error in deleting it. And i have no idea how to get rid of it. I called dell and its going to cost 180 dollars to get rid of through them. not going to happen....

since the process is running you cant delete it try going into safe mode and going into add/remove programs and deleting it from there

I googled and found an easy way of getting rid of all of antivirus xp 2008 and i didn't have to spend a dime. found this removal guide http://www.spyware-techie.com/antivirusx...

Hi! There is a way to solve the problem. Go to this link and download a program called Malwarebytes.

When you're done downloading, install it and the main menu will show up. Click quick scan. Trojans and other things will show up. click remove. I hope this will help.

Hi guys,

I wanted to post so that others can see how I got rid of Antivirus XP 2008.  It was a very frustrating process...three paid virus software programs did not work.  The spyware froze my internet so I had limited access but I did manage to make it onto bleepingcomputer.com.  From there, I went to the forum section and found the following free spyware download and it got rid of the insidious program.  Good luck...

antivirus xp 2008 is not listed on add/remove programs because it's not a normal program, it's a computer parasite. if you have reputable anti-spyware (not a pest like antivirus xp) you can run a scan and delete what's detected. you can also delete this thing manually, here's a guide how to delete antivirusxp 2008 http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-antiviru...
