Question:

How to get rid of Black Widow Spiders?

I found 2 black widow spiders in my garage. I know it was a black widow because it had an red hourglass on its body. One of the spider webs had a baby sac in it. I sprayed the sac with pesticide for about 1 minute. Would this have killed the sac, or do I have to remove the sac? I am really scared and get the heebie jeebies everytime I think about spiders. So far, I only saw two, but there are a lot of spider webs on the outside of my house and in my unfinished basement. Should I call the exterminatior, or will the pesticide at the local store work?

  1. I hate bugs, especially spiders. I'd call en exterminator just because BWs are deadly. Ohhhh, honey, I feel so bad for you! I'd be freaking out right now! PS- I work at a hospital and have seen people who've gotten bitten by a BW before....it EATS your skin away. It's horrible. !

  2. burn the sack first because the baby black widows will spread

then kill the adults they are good jumpers

soap kills spiders i dont know why

  3. You can purchase insecticide bombs at the grocery store or at Wal Mart. They come three or four in a box. They are basically an aerosol can that will fill your garage or room with toxic fumes. You have to be out of the house for a minimum of 4 hours.

Use them in the areas where you've seen the spiders - start them before you leave the house and stay gone for a good while  - maybe on a weekend when you are away.

  4. CALL THE EXTERMINATOR. dont try to do it yourself or theyll always be around
