How to get rid of Freezer Burn in my ice maker?

I've read that some have tried baking soda and vinegar, but that they didn't work.

  1. I am not quite sure what you mean by freezer burn in your icemaker. But I am assuming that you mean that white stuff that builds up over time. If so, that is calcium deposits from the water. (freezer burn is what happens to food when you leave it exposed and all the moisture is sucked out of it.)

    Anyway, calcium deposits can be removed by soaking in warm water mixed in equal parts with vinegar. (do not mix baking soda with it or it will foam like crazy and just make a big mess)

    The vinegar should dissolve most of it and at least loosen the thickest parts allowing you to easily wipe away any remaining residue. (an old toothbrush would work to get down in the corners.)
