  1. Drink ice cold water with your head facing upward (at a 90 degree angle). Keep drinking until they stop.....

  2. This may seem odd, but this really works. Lay on the ground, lift your shirt up above your stomach. Be sure your bare stomach is touching the floor (rug). Right before your next hiccup, take a deep breath and hold your breath as long as you can. Your hiccups will be gone.

  3. Hiccups are basically your diaphragm (a muscle below your lungs) cramping. For me, I take in as much air into my lungs as possible, and then hold my breath for as long as possible.

  4. I tried the water thing before and it didn't work for me, what did work was eating a small pack of sugar. I don't know why it works I just know it does.

  5. put a little sugar in your mouth trust me it works

    side note also if you get a brain freze put your dum under your mouth where your toung is on top and push and is gone dont know why

  6. get a cup of tap water and put a paper towell over it. sip slowly, or hold your nose while drinking it.

  7. Hiccups are merely psycho-somatic try to see what it feels like to hiccup.  If that doesn't work, actually try to hiccup without forcing yourself, see what makes you hiccup.  If those don't work there are home remedies such as:

        * Hold your breath.

        * Drink a glass of water quickly.

        * Become frightened.

        * Use smelling salts.

        * Pull hard on your tongue.

        * Place one-half teaspoon of dry sugar on the back of your tongue. (You can repeat this process 3 times at 2-minute intervals. Use corn syrup, not sugar, in young children.)

  8. My best tip to get rid of hiccups is to fill a cup with water and then try to drink it upside down. Bend all the way forward and put your lips on the OPPOSITE side of the cup that you normally would, and tilt your head forward so you can sip from the cup.

    By the time you finish drinking from the cup, your hiccups are gone.

    The way it works is that when you have the hiccups, you need to sort of "reset" your diaphragm muscle, and doing this will make that happen!

  9. 1. take a sip of soda and hold your breath

    2.gargle with saltwater

    3.try to get scared

    4.bite into a salted lime

    5.scream at the top of your lungs

  10. I have told this to a lot of my friends and as crazy as this sounds, Try to hold your breath and block your nose and then burp when you feel the hiccup coming. So far it has worked every time i have recommended it. Good Luck and hope it works for you!

  11. the first person is right take very large/deep breaths and hold it. Then release/ Repeat continuously. It ALWAYS works!!!
