How to get rid of a STYE

I have this stye on my eyelid and its driving me crazy :( its been there for months and i donno if its not going away because i dont take care of it consistantly or because its really really really stubborn. the optholmologist confirmed that it is a stye and that i should treat it with a warm compress, twice a day...otherwise i would have to undertake a surgery which would give me a swollen, black eye afterwards for 2 weeks and on top of that i would still have to use a warm compress twice a day with eye drops...my mistake was not getting the surgery, cuz the next available appointment would be during school

sooooo, just out of curiousity, does anyone know of any other remedies? would using eye drops such as visine or polysporin drops help? please help any advice will be appreciated thank you

  1. they go away put a drop of bleach in yer eye

  2. I'm not sure if you live in the States or not, but if you do your local drugstore should have a product called Sty.  It's an ointment, it comes in an unbelievably small tube for an unbelievably pricey price (I think something like $9 for that tiny tube)  You just rub a small dot of it into your eyelid until it' is well absorbed. Do that a few times and the sty will be gone.  It's worth every penny! Great stuff!

  3. no use warm compress is the only answer sorry  but do it often as you can

  4. the best way is to rub sterling silver on it...sounds wierd i know but if you have a sterling silver ring, necklace, bracelet just rub it right on the stye and it will go right a way.

  5. some styes can be triggered by ingrown infected eyelashes. if that be the case, pluck out the surrounding eye lashes and continue to moisten the eye with warm compresses and wet towels. I had a really bad stye and my mother in law (an admitted tree hugger) suggested that i make myself a cup hot herbal tea. After making the tea (make sure its a natural or organic tea) take the tea bag out of the water and while it is still very warm, not extemely hot, place the tea bag on your eye. dont worry about the blurriness, it will go away once your eye flushes out the tea. It is harmless, and will sooth it and speed up healing. not to mention make your eye feel rejuvinated.

if your stye is higher on the lid or under the lid, the tea will still sooth it, but those types last so much longer. those are the ones that surgery usually has to happen.

  6. drink loads of water
