How to get rid of a cold fast?

k so i feel a cold comeing on. i got a runny nose starting and itchy throat. i took an airborne , vitamen, and took zicam that u put into ur nose. i got american idol live in 6 days and school staring in 9. i want to be better by then. what can i do to make me feel better and speed up the cold???

most people belive u should rest but that make it worse.

Lots and lots of rest. Stay in bed as much as possible. Also, if you're sinus's feel clogged, try putting warm washclothes over your face. Try only taking one type of cold medicine, personally I like Tylenol Cough and Cold the best. But rest is the main key.

Go to your doctor and see if he will give you an anti-viral medication.  Tell him why you need it.  These meds speed up the infection.

you should be fine in six days but in the mean time drink some medicine like dayquil and make yourself some honey and lemon tea at night.
