I made a spaghetti sauce and it is a little salty, and I remember hearing a while back something you can do to remove the salt taste.

But can't remember what it was, was it bread?

Please help! don't want the sauce to be ruined.

  1. A peeled raw potato  does the trick everytime.

  2. yup its bread i once got over soured and salted by sour patch kids and then i ate bread all better!!!

  3. add red wine (failing that, some milk)

  4. Cut some potatoes and place them in the sauce for 10 to 15 minutes. Potatoes suck up salt. :)

    Hope I helped!

  5. A little olive oil, a bit of granulated sugar (not much, tomatoes sweeten when reduced) you can add a little bit of butter but not more than 1 tbsp.

  6. Something dry and sweet.

  7. Put a potato in the sauce. It absorbs the salt.  Heat the sauce with the potato in it if you can,  if not then cook the potato (with no salt of course) and then dump it in the sauce.

    It should help.

  8. Cut up some potatoes in large chunks ( so you can pick them out later ) they will help pull some of the salt out. Also add a small amount of sugar.  But not bread, it will fall apart and look bad.

    good luck

  9. i put sugar i might try water but im sure about the sugar.
