How to get rid of bees that are drinking out of our humming bird feeders. They keep attacking each other

  1. There isn't really a way, other than taking down the feeders.  Honeybees LOVE anything sweet.


  2. Get a big spray bottle and fill it up with water - select the "squirt" stream, not the "spray" stream.

    Just squirt them every time they get anywhere near the feeder. Soon they'll just learn they aren't going to get any.

  3. Make some new food.  Take your feeder down clean inside and outside refill it making sure you don't get any on the outside of the feeder.  I found that if you drip some of the food on the outside of the feeder that attracts them.  Watch also when your are carrying it so that it doesn't slosh around and some drips out again.

  4. Make sure you are using the correct amount of sugar to water ratio, it should be 1 part sugar to 4 parts water..if you are mixing it too sweet it will attract bees.  You can also purchase bee guards to attach to your feeder.
