How to get rid of birds living in my dryer vent?

  1. I disagree with smiling b. You want them OUT, then seal the vent with wire mesh. You don't want nesting materials and bird f***s in the vent then later your dryer catch fire due to heat build up and who knows what else.


  2. Go To Your Local Loews Or Home Depot To Purchase Wiring-screen. Kind Of Like The Ones That Are On Windows To Keep Out Bugs.

  3. I'd want to find out what kind of birds they are 1st... if they are a pest (ie: pidgeons, starlings, sparrows), I'd try & get them out right away, try making noises into the vent, or turning on the dryer, disturbing them somehow so they leave, then you can cover the vent with some screen to prevent them coming back.

      If they aren't a pest, I wouldn't rush getting them out of there, chances are they'll move away in the fall....then you could cover the vent with screen.

  4. get them out, then seal it with chicken wire.

  5. start washing  and drying your clothes  they  will leave
