  1. are you slow? you come to a reptile forum where people "LOVE" lizards, and you're asking them how to get rid of them? We want lizards around, we like them so there's not much advice to give on getting rid of them. And unless the lizard is biting you or is venomous, don't be a baby. Be a man. I don't like spiders but I sure don't avoid going outside when they're there or in my basement that is covered in webs. I run my life, not my fears.

  2. Are you kidding? I would pay a lot of money to live somewhere like that.

  3. First, get rid of your ignorance.  I don't mean this in any insulting way whatsoever, but you need to learn.  Being afraid of something simply because you don't understand it is foolishness.  They're not going to hurt you. In fact, they CAN'T hurt you.  Trust me, you would NOT rather have a rat in your house than a lizard.  Rats are carriers of plague, hantavirus, and a whole other host of incredibly nasty things.  And their bites HURT.  Lizards....well, don't really carry diseases, and are harmless.  They don't intrude, they don't make noise, nor do they smell.  You're best bet to keeping them out of the house is to seal your house.  Obviously there are large holes where they are streaming in, if you have open windows, get screens.  Have a professional come in and check your house for possible access points, and then have them seal those points.  Really, you're terribly over-reacting about this.  I really do recommend learning more about them before you have a panic attack.  You'll be far better off in the end than just reacting hysterically, which gets no one anywhere.

  4. Umm...chill out they are just lizards, they can't do anything to you.

  5. I'm sorry, but your story made me laugh! lol...Okay, okay. Maybe you should call around and see what can be done. I've never heard of an infestation of lizards before. So try googling it or calling exterminators.

  6. If you've got an insect problem in your home, that's probably what's attracting the lizards inside. Get rid of the bugs in your home and on your property and the lizards will move on.

Look into sonic pest repellent devices.

  7. Either call an exterminator or learn to deal with it.  Lizards aren't' going to attach you. Don't try to scare them either.  Just leave them alone and they'll leave you alone.

  8. call an exterminator

  9. To attempt to answer your question I'll start by informing you that there is a powdery substance that's used to get rid of roaches.  This product can be found at a hardware store like Home Depot or Lowes.  But first ask the assistance from an employee familiar with your description.  Like with any poisons, use caution and read the directions carefully.  It is a blue powdery substance and the lizard don't appear to like it.  I believe it has an acid based.  So again, I stress caution in it's use and follow the direction on the label.

Next, check for cracks and any access points around your home.  Properly sill these areas.  If you don't know the proper way to caulk or sill, then ask the home owner to hire a professional.

Next, get rid of the things that lizards like - for instance, bugs that they eat. If you don't know the proper way to get rid of these bugs, then hire an exterminator for both the bugs and the lizards.  Unfortunately, you may hear some of the same comments you've heard from other responders on this site...like "they kill the bugs".  But you'll be further ahead even if the exterminator rid you of the other pests, the lizard will likely move on because there's less for them to feed on.

For over 20 years I lived here and have never seen a lizard in my neighborhood until two years ago after new neighbors moved next door.  I'm not accusing them, but you do the math.  Since then, they have been repopulating and it was a constant battle to keep them away.  So far, the powder has been a good deterrent.  I hope my comments help you.
