I have an old rabbits cage that had mites,

cause the last rabbits in it got mites.

What should I clean it with?

And how, so that I can put my new rabbit in it?

  1. Throw away all the bedding from the cage. Brush the cage itself very thoroughly with vinegar, the rinse it well with water. Don't use commercial cleaners, because many chemicals which are harmless to us are poisonous to rodents. You'd do best to throw away any houses, feed bowls etc. and buy new ones. If you can't afford it, scrub the old ones with vinegar too, and put them for at least 48 hours in the freezer (fridge won't do). For the animals themselves, brush their fur and ask your vet if he has some disinfectant you can apply to the fur (I think there is such, similar to flea powder for cats). When you assemble the cage again, don't include hay in the bedding for the first 2-3 weeks.

  2. disinfect it...or try to buy another cage much better
