How to get rid of moth ball smell?

i bought a wardrobe last year, the previous owner filled it with mothballs and now whenever i put clothes in the drawers they stink and i have to wash them again before wearing them.

any ideas on how to get rid of the smell please!!

  1. They make odor absorbing air fresheners that come in cans (can find them at drug stores, home depots etc.) and smell like anything from flowers to fruit. Also-get some cedar blocks and/or balls-that will work over a long term period and keep out any bugs. I have them in my closet & they smell good three years later. It keeps everything fresh also.


  2. Keep a window and  the door of the wardrobe open to let fresh air in, and get some lavender sachet to put in the wardrobe for the future.rt

  3. Get a box of Arm and Hammer baking soda and open it a bit and put it in there until the odor is absorbed, kinda like the fridge.

  4. There are some white pellets or balls that you buy and put in wardrobes. They emit a fragrance over a long period of time.

    You can probably find them in your local supermarket.
