  1. Gargle with warm saltwater

  2. I heard putting salt on them works and the next day theyll be gone, ive never tried it though i usually just put up with them, i rub them against my teeth and they stop hurting for a bit lol

  3. I would recommend Forever Toothgel you can purchase it at www.ernestone.co.uk under the personal care category.

  4. thewn if they are recurring, you gotta sort out why.

There are many causes for ulcers, and you really should speak to your DR if they keep returning as it could be a symptom of something more serious.

I get ulcers when I am run down- burning the candle at both ends sort of thing. Sleeping 7 to 8 hours per night again can help them not returning.

As can getting enough of  a healthy diet- 8 tall glasses of water a day, 5 plus portions of fruit or veg (or a mix) per day, and 5 glasses of fruit juice doesnt count, they all have to be different types of fruit and veg.

Drinking too much alcohol can out me at risk of getting ulcers and the final one:

stress! if your overtly stressed out your at a far greater risk, so try to work on relaxation tequniques when you can, otherwise, try to get some support with things when they get stressful, sometimes you dont notice before its too late so its important to ask before things get too bad or you feel to embarrassed to ask or something.

People swear also by swigging a mixture of warm salt water around your ulcer, seems like h**l to me, bonjela hurts way less!

  5. It is most probably your diet that is causing the recurrent problem. Beef up the vitamins and minerals in your diet to get rid of them, as the first answer said, orange juice!

  6. Well I spent a lot of time going to my hospital, and did not get any better. A couple of weeks later and still with a very painful mouth I went to New York on vacation, and when my Daughter saw me she took me the very same night I got there. Two Doctors  came out took one look and said open your mouth, and they sprayed some liquid in and said go home       ,,, it will have gone in the morning. Guess what it had, and I had no more trouble. I asked my own Doctor on return     and he thought it was great, but said we have not got that over here, So that says a lot does it not. ?

  7. Gargle some diluted TCP. Orange juice will hurt like no-one's business.

  8. Prevention is a brand of mouthwash used for mouth sores which has helped a lot of people I know.  If they are really bad, there is a prescription compounded product called Mary's Magic Mouthwash (seriously, it's true) that works wonders!

  9. The most common type of mouth ulcers are called 'apthous' ulcers. They are probably viral. (though no virus has been identified.)This means they should not be given antibiotics as there have no effect. There behaviour is similar to cold sores, in that they are recurrent, come out when we are run down and we never seem to develop immunity. Here the similarity ends, because unlike herpetic cold sores there is no treatment.

Each ulcer lasts about 10 days, but you can get further crops erupting, so each episode may last longer than that.

Ice,ice cream and cold soft items, become the easiest things to eat. Teething gels sometimes help. There are 2 prescription drugs for apthous ulcers, Corlan Pellets and Adcortyl in Orobase paste. Both are steroids, only reduce the nipping a bit and neither hastens resolution.

  10. Oranges! Orange juice! Vitamin C.
