How to get rid of nasty trash can smell?

The trash man comes every week to pick up our cans. I always keep my cans super clean, they get washed with soap and bleach. My neighbor on the other hand does not. It smells so bad, that the smell penetrated into my garage through the vents and now I can not get rid of the smell. What can I use? I have tried almost everything. I am dying here. By the way she knows about her cans already she' s already washed them, but the stink is still haunting me. HELP!!

  1. I had same problem with kitchen trash can and also large trash can in garage that they take once per week but in between, wow - it was BAD

Go out and get a couple of the FRIDGE-IT activated carbon odor absorbers - little purple cube - not the imitations. costs around $3 dollars each and just clip onto trash can.Totally unscented so it actually eliminates odor rather than covering up with some nasty fragrance.

I've used these for worst smells including trash cans, spoiled fish in car and for closets, fridge etc. they are FANTASTIC.   You can buy these in kitchen gadget stores or just go direct which is what I do - contact them at customerservice@innofresh.com and ask for order form. You get it right away.

Definitely the way to go. try it.

  2. I suggest a good deodorizer like OdoBan.  Spray a light mist on everything (not the car though, will ruin the finish) and then spray the air like using an air freshener.  The stuff smells pretty good and I have very good luck with it getting rid of smells in my house.

  3. i just read an article and i know it'll help you...
