How to get rid of old, not working fax machine, a few old fans and some pieces of PC (in London)?

Council asked a ridiculous price of £70+VAT. Is there any cheaper and legal way to get rid of all this stuff?

Take a look on Freecycle by Yahoo and advertise them, someone will pick em up as spares or repairs for other broken stuff or something, either way it's quick easy fun and fast

if freecycle don't work break them up & put them in your bin with other rubbish

Well the bits that do not work take to the skip...for all the over bits, go to groups and search FREECYCLE and choose london area or where ever you are in the u.k...Its where ppl give away stuff for free and the ppl who want it, collect it, I put loads of stuff on there and got great bargains, some things were NEW...try it ...it's green and you may have sum fun

They are charging that because it must be commercial waste.

If it were domestic then you could take it to the nearest recycling centre. (free)

You either take it to the tip yourself, or put it on freecycle, which is a group where people offer things they don't want anymore and other people pick them up.  You don't make money but you get rid of junk!

There are companies who will recycle them for free - they come to your office and pick them up.  Can't think of the name of one at the moment but google recycling office equipment london and you should find one.

Take it to the tip yourself!  You can get rid of electrical stuff at the tip the same as any other rubbish.

1) Take it to the dump yourself.

2) Put it on Freecycle.

3) Put it in the 'free' section on Gumtree.

4) Break it up, wrap it well, and disguise it as ordinary household rubbish mixed with your other rubbish.

Flytipping and using other people's skips is illegal.
