How to get rid of parasites on hamsters?

My poor little hamster is always diggin away at her self.

How can I get rid of the parasites?

Can I use something that is made for dogs will it be safe to use that?

I know shes not cleaning her self....

when she cleans her self its different from when she is itching.

well it might be nothing. but no, don't use dog stuff until you ask a vet. you really, really need to go to vet. the vet will tell you what's wrong with it, if it has them or not, and how to treat it if it does. andif you don't, the hammy might die. it's better to take it there, and have it be nothing. then not take it, and have the haster die because of it.

First off clean her cage! There may be thousands of parasites living in the cage with her so clean it asap! Second don't use anything for dogs this may make her worse off. At stores such as pet smart, etc. they have special treatments for hamsters and cleaning them & getting rid of parasites / bugs, etc. So I would go try to purchase a treatment that will most likely help a lot. If this does not help then you should definitely take your hamster to see a vet. Good luck to you & your hamster!
