How to get rid of "Windows Security Alert Virus"?

Question

i snuck onto my laptop and found myself looking at websites i shouldnt have and now i have a virus that says you have a security problem and it wont go away. My dad told me about this virrus and then installed firefox to prevent it from happening. How do i get rid of it so i wont get busted for 1) sneaking on and 2) putting a virus on mylaptop. my fathers good with computers and could prob remove it but i cant go to him b/c ill be screwed. PLZZZ some 1 help im about to have a heartattck. the virus also changed my backround and it looks like a giant virus symbol and says the following:: "Your Privacy is in danger" "download privacy protection software now!" then theres a pop up screen that wont go away and says "windows has detected a viruss somebody's trying to blah blah blah" my comp keeps telling me theres a virus. i just ran symantec antivirus but it hasnt found anything yet. i keep on getting redirected to antivirus sites but it think there apart of the virus. please help!

For the love of god, do not download anything it tells you to. Try to go to the windows control panel and do system restore to before the problem happened. If that doesn't work, try to completely restore with the install disk, this will delete everything though.

Then don't surf p**n.

hmm it must be a Trojan. Try to download a free scan and find out which files are infected http://www.pcthreat.com/removers.html

Then find them in your system and delete them. If you will have problems you can use a manual removal instructions from http://www.pcthreat.com/

sorry but your infacted with a nasty spyware download spybot search and destroy and ad aware scan it in safe mode remove infaction reboot , next time use free spywareblaster and firefox , be safe good luck

Its not a virus, you have smitfraud.

changed my backround and it looks like a giant virus symbol - smitfraud.

keep on getting redirected to antivirus program - again smitfraud/ poss rogue program.

An Antivirus program will not remove smitfraud or rogue programs.

boot into safe mode and run a virus scan.  If you have no anti-virus software you can download AVG for free.

First off, don't go where the pop-up is trying to get  you to go. Next you need a good AV. I'm willing to bet that there is one on the laptop. Reboot the laptop to safe mode and run the scan. Clean any problems you have and then restart the computer like normal. You should be good to go. Or, better yet, come clean with your dad. As a parent myself, I would rather my kid come to me than try to fix things only to have to come to me later. You may have to foot the bill now and I assure you it will be better than later.
