  1. Buy roach motels or the round roach poison baits (in round black plastic containers) and spray around cracks and baseboards.   This will help at least.   At last resort, hire an exterminator.

  2. I've heard that borax sprinkled in lower kitchen cabinets.  I also remembered a warning about pets, not just eating it, but smelling it as well.  So don't use it if you have indoor pets.

Cleaning well & often, especially the kitchen floor, should help, too.  Also, take out any food trash every day, either to an outside can or or compost pile.  Don't leave pet food in the bowl.  Clean the pet food bowl every evening before bed.  Pour dry pet food into a container with a lid, such a a plastic bin with a tight lid.  It should be one that's approved for use with food.

If the situation is too bad, put dry human food, such as flour & cereal, into big canning jars & store in the fridge.  (Keeping the lid inserts upside down will make the jars easier to open.)

If these don't work, at least you've done everything you can.  Maybe it will take a few weeks to starve them out.  That's about everything I know to try that doesn't involve exterminators or poison.  (groan!)
