How to get rid of spiders without chemicals?

Question

I am living in a basement suite, and I do have a spider problem. I have arachnophobia, so they have to go! I can't call an exterminator or use a spray like Raid or a bug bomb, because I have cats and that would harm them.

What can I do to get rid of them???

put down A glue trap . you can purchase them from wal-mart ., But you may not want to do that either  cause your cats might get caught to . Just pack up the cats for weekend and Spray while you'll gone

Lots of careful vacuuming really helps.  You need to get under and behind dressers and bookcases, etc. to get any spider eggs.  Take good care of corners and windowsills.  Good luck.

I would lock the cats in one room and lightly spray the other room.  You might have to spray more often, but I think you would get the job done eventually.

i have heard that moth balls work great but never had to try it. Read the package carefully, i don't know if you can use them with cats around. i too hate spiders so i hope you get rid of them FAST

Hi.  Don't waste time bombing them.  It won't work.  Spiders can only be killed by spraying them DIRECTLY with a wet spray like Raid.  Which is helpful to your cats who thus won't be affected.  When you see a spider, spray it.  Broom the web down.  Or suck it up with the vacuum.  Spiders do not absorb pesticides like insects do, so only a direct hit with wet spray will kill them.  It doesn't take much.  Just a little blast.  Hope this helps.
