How to get rid of wood wasps?

Today i discovered that wasps have burrowed into a downed tree in my back yard and my mom and sister are allergic to wasps and i'm at a loss as how to get rid of them.

  1. Good ol' can of Raid Wasp and Hornet Spray


  2. i would spary them and if they still come call an bug place and they will come and kill them for good.

  3. The obvious solution is to have the downed tree removed. Call tree services; some may not be bothered by the wasp nest and will just haul it off. If that's not happening, first get a pest control person to deal with the wasps, then remove the tree.

  4. Just spray the nest and area with wasp spray. Depending on what you use, you'll have to reapply the spray every now and then. Read the back of the can for instructions.

  5. Wait until night when the wasps are all back in the nest.  Then spray the dickens out of them with a long distance wasp killer spray.  Drench the little buggers.  The stuff kills on contact and they drop like hot rocks.

    Then get the tree removed.

    Naturally, be really careful, and DO warn the tree guys.
