We just moved, and upon upacking stuff from the movers, I noticed that one of my favorite pampered chef stoneware pieces has some rust on it (presumably from somthing that was sitting on top of it?) Is there any way to clean the rust off? i know you can't use soap or anything on it. . .

Thanks in advance

  1. Try some toilet bowl cleaner.

  2. Stick it in hot water, and scrape it with a scraper!

That's the easiest way.  if your stone was decently seasoned, it should come off without too much trouble.

  3. Check directly with Pampered Chef, they should know.

If no luck, I would try CLR, just dap a small amount on the spot.  It doesn't scratch or damage sinks, tubs, glass, etc., so it should work.

  4. Good night, I hope you didn't use those chemicals on the stone. If you did, throw it out. That stone literally soaks up whatever you put on it and then distributes it into whatever food you put on the stone, combined with heat and you are going to have noxious fumes. For rust on stoneware, simply wet the area fresh lemon or lime juice and then sprinkle with salt, allow to sit 5 minutes then scrub with the cut fruit or a tooth brush or even a nail brush will do. Rinse it off, dry well and then reseason with vegetable oil.
