How to get rust off of formica?

I have formica counter tops and my husband left a cast iron pot on the side of the sink. Apparently there was some moisture underneath the pot because I have a rusted ring on my counter. How can I get this off? I have tried Clorox kitchen spray and left it sit but it didn't seem to budge it. I don't know what I can and can not put on the formica.

I've had good luck with Mr. Clean Magic Erasers.  If that doesn't work, try using Barkeepers Friend - you can find it next to the Comet cleanser at most stores.  Get the formica wet and sprinkle it on the stain.  Let it set a little while.  If the stain is still there, rub it gently with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
