How to get rust stains out of clothing?

My washing machine is to be staining my clothes with what appears to be rust! I have tried everything! From bleach to oxyclean and nothing works!!!! How can I get stubborn rust stains out? They are on both white and colored clothes.

  1. If you have walmart ask associate for Super Iron Out in laundry aisle with all the other cleaning products.

    Use hot water let it soak for about 10 minutes. Rub the spot with super iron out with sponge before washing.

There has to be a reason why staining is suddenly happening in your washing machine .... is it possible to flush the water supply to your washing machine?  That way any rust deposits in the pipes can be flushed away..... next try bicarbonate of soda (half a teaspoon) a couple of drops of white vinegar and some warm water - try dabbing the stains with this solution (don't leave it on) and then rinse ....

  3. You say the stains are coming from your washing machine? You would have to eliminate that problem first. If you have tried bleach and oxy-clean, and you still have rust, I would try putting lemon on the stain and putting it in the sun for awhile. Be careful with bleach on colored clothes. Sunshine is amazing. It helps get rid of lots of stains.
