If you are outside the US, contact individual universities in which you are interested (you will find contact information on their websites).  They will be happy to send you current admissions information, catalogs of classes offered and information about campus living, as well as scholarship information.   Most major universities offer scholarships for foreign students, as do many small private colleges.

Do it now, since many scholarships require early application.
