How to get something 300 DPI on photoshop?

i need to make something with 300dpi how do i set it to that

  1. Open the photo or whatever it is, then Image->Image Size

    At the bottom you will see something that says Resolution.  Change that to 300 and you should be good to go.

  2. Well photos are not really in DPI anyway...this is only a issue for printing.

    So usually something like pagemaker (for book layout) will be more concerned about DPI.

    Photos are really in terms of resolution, which is the number of pixels across by the number down.

    If you print out the picture, the DPI will be determined by the size you print it at.

    For example, if you scan a fully page photo at 300 DPI and print it at full page it will be 300 DPI, print it larger then DPI will reduce or print it smaller the DPI will increase.

    Conversion figures would be nice....I used to teach this but I forget the numbers because I haven't worked with print media in over 6 years....
