How to get soround sound on ps3?

got a ps3 and am using the hdmi cable can i use my hifi its a technics i did with the 360 to get dolbly soround sound my hifi supports it

If your receiver accepts HDMI it will give you surround sound from the PS3. If you don't have any more ports (e.g. used by the XBox) you can get an HDMI switch (2 or 3 inputs to 1 output). If no HDMI, you can connect the PS3 to the receiver via optical or digital coax ... either will give you surround as long as you output bitstream audio from the PS3.
