How to get special treatment on airlines for newlyweds?

my brother is leaving for hawaii I was hoping to get a bump up to first class or at least a special welcome for the newlyweds

Don't count on it.  While stories of special treatment for newlyweds float around, they are definitely few and far between -- and with Hawaii being a popular honeymoon destination, they'd be constantly providing special perks for a certain segment of the passengers on virtually every plane.

The only way to guarantee getting into First Class on these (or any) flights anymore -- especially in economically unstable times for the airlines -- is to pay for the ticket.  The odds of getting special treatment from them just by asking approach nil.
