Question:

How to get started babysitting?

I'm not new to babysitting, but I've never actually approached others myself to offer my services. But, now I'm in need of money before summer, and I can't get a job quite yet, because I'm leaving state for the entire summer, so I'm resorting to babysitting.

Except I need to know how tp approach people, and what to say. And who I should ask.

  1. Ask around and get the word out to adults you know, like teachers and neighbors.

And best of all are the classifieds in your local newspaper

    GL

  2. I'm from Brazil, and I know a ton of friends/acquaintaces that are baby sitters.

The best way is through referrals. Good baby sitters always have people asking them for referrals.

If you don't have a strong network, then you need to offer your services or actually apply to jobs using classifieds (craigslist.org is a great place for that. Not guarantee you'll find great gigs there, but should get your feet wet in the industry)

  3. you can advertise your services in newspapers or put up posters about you and your background and experience on babysitting. you can also try talking to parents in your neighborhood if they need any babysitters.
