How to get started on getting a security position?

Wat Up Everyone,

I have a friend I met a while back who was a security guard and went on to do loss prevention and was getting paid an ok wage about $15 an hour. I wanted to give this a try since he did this in a span of about 5 months. I was wondering how to get started on a security job so i could eventually do loss prevention for the time being? I was also wondering how the security companies work. Do they give you somewhere to work thats close to home or is it totally random? I was also wondering if any one knew of a couple good companies to apply to who provides good wage benefits and/or could help with any training i might need?

Since you do not mention where you live it is useless to name any specific security company.

Look in the phone book for companies and either ask your questions over the phone or make an appointment to talk with them.
