  1. I know this might sound weird but try jabbing your fingers into a bucket of sand

  2. My guitar instructor recommended super glue on the ends of my fingers for the first few weeks.

  3. It's hard, to do, other than playing the guitar, nothing hardens up the tips of your fingers, like those strings will do.

As you now know, when you don't play regularly, your fingers lose that hardness, and grow soft again.

If you are playing with steel strings, that will take longer for you to get back to where you were.

If you can, buy a fairly good cheap classic guitar, acoustic one. The strings aren't so hard on your fingers, and you can practice more, until your fingers get those calluses on them again.

  4. move bricks or carry a brick (or semi-rough object that weighs about 3 pounds or more). Carry it with your fingers, not inside the hand like you normally would.
