Mainly around the neck and armpit area? Like many, I wear underarmour under my top so even though I don't sweat much it still bleeds out and onto my gi.

  1. Bleach is the only thing......I wouldn't really consider yellow armpit stains as battle scars so you might want to try bleach.

  2. bleach??

  3. I like  to use the Shout brush cleaner, then I use Oxyclean in the perm press cycle in warm water.  Then I line dry the jacket.  If you are having color bleed through from the shirts then wash the shirts twice in hot water and hopefully that takes care of most of the loose dye.

  4. I used to wash them in clorox-2, once every 2-3 months. It's not really good for the gi.

Judomofo is right about Oxy Clean.

I actually use Trader Joe's version, Oxo - something. It's just as good and I think it's good for the environment. Plus, it's cheaper.

  5. i think sweat stains are like battle scars.  you should keep them. personally, the only thing my gi is ever washed in is sweat

  6. About a capful of bleach, you don't want to put to much in or it weakens the fabric.

To get them out I normally just put the capful in right into the water when the water reaches the level before the wash cycle and don't rely on the bleach cup on side.

I also HIGHLY reccomend Oxyclean. Seriously that stuff works, and doesn't weaken the fabric at all. I will soak my gi in the Oxyclean before the wash, then put a little Oxyclean in the wash... Voila.

That should do the trick for ya.

  7. I like to use 1/2 oxy-clean and 1/2 water solution and some elbow grease - put some of the solution on the stain and let it sit a couple minutes.  Then fold the uniform and rub the stained area against itself sort of like washing your hands.  Be sure to rinse well afterwards.

Bleach works, but be careful as it can cause the fabric to weaken and wear quickly.  Add just a couple tablespoons to your wash and use hot water.  Soaking the uniform in a tub of hot water with a tiny bit of bleach works too - just make sure to rinse the uniform well afterwards.
