If you're having one built, the pool contractor should take of it for you.  Just call the city and start asking questions.

~~You would have to have your complete set of plans  (i.e., electrical line runs, gas line run, location of equipment, size of pumps and electrical consumption, lighting and electrical consumption, show distances from edge or pool to all propertly lines, show North on the plan) all need to be on the plans, and all property info, then you will need to have the engineering plans also, and submit them to your city's building department.~~
