My daughter broke her leg and she is in a cast from her chest down. She can't move around at all unless I carry her or hold her. She has to spend alot of time laying down with pillows behind her to let her sit up as much as she can. The problem is her hair is getting tangled in the back like crazy! I brush and wash it every day but it still happenes. Is there anything I can do?

  1. My daughters hair gets matted in the carseat "she has natural curly hair that is somewhat thick". I bought some of the detangling spray, and believe me it works wonders. If you haven't tried that then that would be a great place to start.. Also when brushing her hair start from the bottom and work your way to the top.

  2. you can buy detangler. Spray it on when the hair is wet and it will brush out easily.

  3. You can buy her that Tangle-Free spray by Suave. It works wonders. You use it right after you get out of the bathtub. Good luck,I hope she feels better :)

  4. Put some conditioner in a spray bottle with some warm water and spray it lightly on her hair and brush from the bottom up. If you keep it away from her scalp it won't be a problem. You can purchase leave-in conditioners and then dilute the same way. The water will help it ease threw her hair. They have some products for kids, but they tend to be very expensive. After you have it smoothed out, try braiding her hair or pig tails to keep tidier. Another solution might be to put her hair up in a ball cap or other hat. Have a silly hair party and invite a couple of her friends over. :)

  5. If it isn't a big deal to her, get her hair cut in a cute shorter style.  It will be easier to comb and also keep it from being damaged from so much pulling.  Make it a fun adventure with a haircut and maybe get her nails painted. It will be something she can enjoy while recuperating.

If she wants it long, keep it in 2 pony's or braids to keep her head off of it as much as possible.

  6. Hi there,

When i worked in a hairdressers it was always easier to get tangles out when the hair is being washed use plenty of conditioner and use a comb to brush the tangles out. Try and hold the hair above the tangle when combing, as its not so uncomfortable for your daughter this way...

To try and avoid tangling the best way is to keep your daughters hair either tied back or in a plait, this stops the hair tangling whilst your daughter is laying back.

    Hope this helps??  =S

  7. Brush her hair starting from the bottom, working your way up. (get the bottom tangles out first, before the tangles that are closer to the scalp) do one section at a time, until all the tangles are out, before moving on to another section and brush her hair quite often throughout the day, instead of just once. Also look for a good detangler in your local pharmacy.
