You'll never get a thank you for your business from national chains like Sears, Wal*Mart, Target, Home Depot, Gap and all of the others. Sadly, the local businesses don't understand how far a Christmas card or even a simple thank you note will go.  Dull-eyed far easterners like you will never understand.

I personally do find a 'Thank You' letter/call/fax/email/whatever to be rewarding!...... I understand what people are saying about people 'forced' to do it as part of their job', but  Isn't it Nice to feel Special' and companies often do that to make you feel so!

It's cheaper to pander and retain your customers, than it is to Advertise and recruit new customers!!!!

My Advice.... Be nice to everyone.... Even the little s***s!!!.... It's GOOD for Business!!!!

I dont really care about getting thank yous  or have a nice day from some clerk that is getting paid minimum wage and are doing it as a job requirement so their company will continue to be able to pay them.  Its all fake.
