Please provide a clear pathway(s) for getting the CGA designation after getting an accounting diploma at fanshawe college?

  1. In order to become a CGA you need to take certain courses either through the CGA or through university/college. Your BBA will probably qualify you for certain course exemptions, but not all courses. You will need to take some more courses with the CGA and you will need to gain 2-3 years of accounting experience. After you have met the educational and experience requirements, you then become designated.

    Depends which route you want to go. you can do the entire CGA program online (19 courses), and you can do your degree with Laurentian University through the partnership they have with CGA. That's another 5 courses plus an internship. All this is on their website.

    If you want classroom study then you might want to start with a part-time diploma at the college nearest you.
