  1. I hope, you have just reset the contrast, brightness and color settings. If so try the following.

    If the signal is strong,

    Contrast - 100%

Brightness - the level at which you can see all the details in the picture - too much of brightness will increase the white level and in low brightness level you can't have a clear view of an object.

Color - a very little more than the level at which the color is real (eg. a black hair should be black, a greenish lawn should be natural green- there will be too much of green if you increase the color level)

Sharpness - 100% if you like it, otherwise the level at which the picture is very pleasing.

See a picture with these levels. You can definitely see the difference comparing with other predefined color setting like vivid, natural, etc.

  2. Use a calibration disk of some sort. You can find the THX Optimizer in the setup menu of some movies (check here: http://www.thx.com/home/dvd/search.html ), including Star Wars movies, or use a separate disk like Digital Video Essentials or Avia or just search for "calibration disk" on Amazon.  It is best to use a calibration disk as they provide base references with which you can calibrate your TV to as opposed to just eyeballing it which can provide inaccurate results. Using a calibration uiltity is the easiest way to ensure you get a great picture.
